  • Kenmark Group | 2013 Rebrand
Kenmark Group is recreating their look for 2013. The direction went from a corporate look to a boutique feel. We wanted to embrace our fashion background and become a brand for our consumers. Each designer came up with their own theme and brand standards. I wanted to come up with something that was minimal and clean. I wanted the typography to pop and compliment the product photography. I believe it's a lot more modern and edgy than what Kenmark is used to being.

Below the brand standards are examples of the catalog cover, the sun brochure cover and an ad spread for 20/20 magazine.

  • African American Theatre Project
The AATP Mainstage is a nationally touring ensemble appearing in major cities. Performing large production plays in class A theatres. They usually stay at a venue for up to three years. Right now they are located in New York City. Performances at the Mainstage venue require purchasing tickets either online, over the phone or on location. The mobile division is a transformed semi tractor-trailer truck that has been converted into a stage. The mobile theatre presents plays in smaller communities and the inner city. The plays are generally shorter in length, with a cast of 1-5 actors, plus 2 technicians and a director. The personnel accompany the truck in a school bus which also houses props for the performance. The Shop & Cafe brings to the public a chance to purchase gifts and memorabilia inspired by the African American Theatre Project. • WILDE Magazine
WILDE is a digest magazine that is dedicated to the infamous Oscar Wilde. I drew inspiration from his novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray. According to Wilde, “art serves no other purpose than to offer beauty.” Since magazines idealize the standard of beauty I thought it would be an appropriate way to reference the underlying theme found in the story. Wilde’s personal philosophy was that of a vain and controversial man and it showed through in his depiction of the protagonist in the novel, Dorian Gray. I referenced type studies I created in Letterforms I. Photography by Rachel Schwarz.

  • Not Hearing The Other Side
The article is about two opposing political views who use majority for leverage against one another. I used sheep as a reference to how society can become when majorities grow. This article talks about the phenomenon of confirmation bias, which is a tendency for people to favor information that confirms their preconceptions or hypotheses regardless of whether the information is true.

  • The Sunset Limited
The Sunset limited is a play that involves only two nameless characters, designated “White” and “Black”, their respective skin colors. Offstage, just before the play begins, Black saves White from throwing himself in front of a train, the Sunset Limited. All of the action takes place in Black’s sparse apartment in urban New York, where the characters go after their encounter on the platform. Black is an ex-convict and an evangelical Christian. White is an atheist and a professor. They debate the meaning of human suffering, the existence of God, and the propriety of White’s attempted suicide.
